What is HDR? When to turn it ON?
HDR
means High Dynamic Range. It is used
to takes clear pictures with balanced Exposure.
Some
times when you capture an image of a person, plants or things there will be some
conditions like
Subject
(person, plants or things) is not clearly visible;
it may be dark or bright.
Background
maybe so bright or dark which doesn’t give you detailed pictures.
In such cases the HDR does it work perfectly, HDR
captures three images at the same time with
- With High Exposure.
- With Low Exposure.
- Normal Camera Image.
It combines
this three images with processing and provides a perfect image with good
quality.
The output
image will not be more bright and more dark it will be the balanced and
optimized image with better quality.

It takes the brightest part and then spreads the brightness level all over the image. The below image is the normal image which is dull to external brightness.

when the HDR mode is on then the brightness is spread all over the image and the subject will also get good focus. hence it provides a image with good quality

CONS
- This mode cannot be used to capture moving subject.
- Should be still while capturing, may make image blur.
- It takes time (1 or 2 seconds) to process.
- It cannot process in very dark situations.
